What is Reiki?
How does it work?
Simply put it is energy healing. Reiki can help with so many things. Each session can feel different, and the experience is very individual.
A reiki treatment can be given hands on or hands off, usually a combination. I always discuss this with you at the beginning of your session. You stay fully clothed, lay on the therapy couch under a warm blanket, and relax. I practice very traditional Reiki and am passionate about sharing this, which is why I also teach it!

My Reiki Story..
I try and share a lot about Reiki, my knowledge, why I use it and why I love to incorporate Reiki into my therapies and if you know me, you’ll know I go on about it!
But why?
Here’s why…
In 2010 I had a miscarriage, after this I started having regular Reiki to help me recover and aid my fertility. As did my Husband.
In 2011 I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, again I had Reiki, as did my Husband.
Fast forward to 2014 and we had a beautiful baby girl. For several years she struggled with recurring chest infections and asthma type symptoms. I would be up all night with her and wished there was something else I could do help her.
I decided to learn how to do Reiki. It was so amazing to be able to give her this for so many reasons. It helped settle her, help when she was sick, helped when she was teething.
If she woke I the night, 2 mins of Reiki and she’d be back asleep again.
In 2016 we wanted a second baby, which wasn’t happening easily. I used reiki on myself and my husband and in 2017 we had our gorgeous son.
2017 I was on maternity leave after having my son and I decided to do my level 2, then my master teacher level. I then set up my business- Balance Reiki.
Fast forward again to 2024, I have left my 20 year nursing career to focus on my business, of which I have rebranded and expanded.
I have taught both my children Reiki, my daughter to level 2, my son to level 1.
My Husband is also trained to level 2. In our house, Reiki is just a normal part of our lives, that we use everyday. Including to help me get through boot camp!
Why I’m sharing this is because although as Reiki treatment is amazing and relaxing, and has so many benefits, Reiki is more. It can be a part of your life, everyday, for all your family.
My kids can use their Reiki skills if they are anxious, stressed, can’t sleep, in pain, just because. Although I can also do this for them, I’m not always there when they need it.
We never know where our journey will go. If you’d said to me in 2010 that I would be where I am now, with the ability to share Reiki as I now can I wouldn’t have believed you.
So please come and enjoy a treatment, but consider more than that, consider having a regular treatment, consider learning it, consider sharing it, because this is when the magic can really happen!
